Peppermint Oil, and Mice

Just wondering, has anyone heard of or tried peppermint oil to keep mice out of campers, cars etc. We've tried the mothballs, Irish Spring soap, Bounce sheets, etc. and they seem to enjoy it all! All of these we were told help, but our mice seem to have come from a different world, nothing seems to work! Any other suggestions? I'm tired of cleaning up after these critters, year after year!
