Have you ever lied?

Just wondering if any of you have ever lied? to your boss, your spouse, girlfriend, fiance, kids? and if so, why did you do it. i know i have lied, maybe to avoid conflict, or hurting someones feelings. why do you think people lie? is a little white lie any different than a big lie?
