For Christmas I recieved a gift certificate to get a tattoo at a local tattoo parlor. I called about making an appointment to find that they do not take appointments but only walk in clientelle. I walked into the parlor one evening to see if I could get my tattoo. Not suprisingly they had no time to do it that evening. I asked the receptionist when would be a good time to come back. She stated that if you come when they first open you will likely get in for that day. So I went on my only day off and waited for them to open. Some other customers came in the door the same time as me. I spoke with the receptionist who told me that they only have one person working on tattoos today and he already had an "appointment". I was confused by this since I was told they don't take appointments. I again asked when would be a good time to come back. I was told to call in advance to see if they would have time. Again, I am confused about why it is a walk in place, if you want me to call.
I work as a hairstylist. My business is based on appointments. I do take walk ins but only when I'm not busy with booked appointments. When I get my teeth checked at the dentist, I make an appointment. When I go to the banker to talk about my finances, I make an appointment. Yet, when I want a tattoo I can't get in for a consultation until I've come by everyday for a week. Why is this not an appointment based business or why only appointment based if you know someone??
