Live on southern ave between 5th & 6th st and with the windows closed and tv on at 1130 i could hear the music almost word for word.  

was extremely loud! It was the loudest music I ever heard coming from the FF. However I heard that their set was to last 76 minutes and I thought okay I can live with that! The guys put on an electrifying show and I'm sure people attending loved it!  
 
On the other hand, not so great for people who had to get up early and go to work.  
 
Shows, acts, whatever come to our city if the think they can make MONEY! I hardly think they check out discussions like this and decide not to come because the noise they make might piss citizens off!

I would also like to complain about the noise. There are so many people talking and way to many vehicles making extreme noise throughout the day and going into the evening. It all needs to stop. Now we also need to address the noise that all those factory's are making, shut them all down. I can't take it anymore. Hell the noise coming from my keyboard is going to cause me to lose it. /s  
 
It is only a few times a year. Please use ear plugs if it is going to bother you. Have a great weekend everyone.

Are you guys serious? Quit being such babies about it. It's a festival that everyone knew was coming. Take responsibility for yourself and get earplugs instead of whining about it.

Here's what a senior I know had to say about the Folk Festival. (She  
lives about a block east of the Keystone & doesn't have a hearing  
problem). "I heard the music from the Festival on Friday evening. I  
opened the windows & enjoyed it. Went to bed at 11 & went right to  
sleep. If you are going to stress yourself about it, you are certainly  
not going to go to sleep. The music sounded like people out enjoying  
themselves on a nice summer evening. Great to hear! Folk Festival is  
only one weekend a year. Enjoy it! Life's too short!"

that sounds a little far-fetched. i live near superstore and never heard anything. we have no air conditioning so i can guarantee that every window was open as wide as it could be.  
 
with how many threads that have been started on here about 'nothing to do', there sure is a lot of sniveling going on about this particular event. was the music really so hideous that it couldn't be tolerated? was it a 24 hour event, over a three day period? were the festival goers drunk and unruly?  
 
i have actually heard the summer fair from my house, from time to time but never the folk festival. this just seems silly.  
 
perhaps, at the same time i am a little jaded. for a good number of years, i used to get up at 4:30 am, for my 16 hours shifts. i guess you might have it rough....

Are they supposed to shut the festival down at 9pm so all of you can get sleep?It's one summer weekend relax, put in some ear plugs.

Sleep in the basement might help also.
