Looking for suggestions. Moving from Brandon to Vancouver with not much stuff.  
 
Open to driving or flying, but really looking for the cheapest options.

Driving, go south through the states and save huge money on fuel

We did that a few years ago and it is a beautiful drive.

Flying Brandon to Calgary to Vancouver can be done with maybe a small meal bought at the Calgary Airport.  
 
Driving is three days or two really long ones. Add in the cost of two nights at a hotel and six meals to the estimated cost of gas. For just one person, driving can be expensive. Only when there is a second and third person does it make sense to drive.  
 
Is moving the car part of the question or will it be sold?

ah no, you can make the drive in 20 hours if you go straight through so even with sleep thats a two day drive, I sleep in my car quite nicely but if you must get a hotel its one night  
 
the route down south is actually a touch longer and with the dollar not worth it, was when the dollar was par because of the cost savings  
 
you could fly but if you have to ship your stuff then its going to cost you way more, unless you plan not to keep your car in bc anyway  
 
my last trip, last summer cost me $128 in a little kia hard to beat that

Even with the dollar change it would be cheaper, and much easier of a drive, better highways and far prettier for the majority of it

you taking with you. if you have to rent almost any kind of trailer or truck you have to look at the value of the items that you are hauling, compared to the cost of hauling. By the time you rent a trailer, and pay a drop off charge plus the extra cost for gas for your vehicle while towing,insurance, you might be better off selling everything that will not fit in your car.  
 
say adios amigo and drive off into the sunset free and clear of all the extra costs. then with the money you have saved by not renting a trailer and the value of what you sold, you just buy what you need at a used store in BC where ever your going.

Gas in the states varies between $2.18 and 2.39 a U.S. gallon. We were travelling east in June. The cheapest prices were North Dakota, so going west they should be good. Hotels are cheaper too.
