I'm interested in taking Spanish lessons. Is there a group that meets regularly with the focus being to learn Spanish ? Has anyone taken courses online or locally (BU or ACC)? Any positive suggestions would be appreciated!!

Brandon University usually offers free classes every summer for beginners.  
Personally, I did these things:  
- signed up everywhere online that offers free lessons, and studied 12 hours a day (I was unemployed at the time):  
- make friends who speak Spanish as a first language and hang out with them:  
- label everything in your house in Spanish. Every single word, repeat. Everything you see, describe it in your head in Spanish. THINK Spanish!  
- visit a Spanish-speaking country for a solid month - you will be forced to speak in order to purchase things, and listening to the news and movies will train your brain to "listen" faster.  
 
Three years later, I was completely fluent. Good luck!

If you have a library card you can log on to Mango on the library website and learn any languages you want to learn, and it's free.

I am taking Spanish at ACC with Sandra Mesa Fernandez and she is AMAZING. We are in level 2 but she offers courses of all levels. I can't say enough good things about learning Spanish in this class.
