Do you come across friends , relatives that when you have meals with them at your home they insist they wash but, you wish they would not because they are crappy washers they never use enough water or it's never hot enough , not enough soap or don't change the water & if you were to say something they would be ticked & you return items to be rewashed ticked again cause there is crud left on items . After the company leaves do you find yourself checking the items for crud & rewashing items .

First world problems. Seriously, give your head a shake.

Look at the big picture, you have friends & family coming over to visit and see you and washing dishes together.  
For the minor issue of having to rewash a few dishes.  
Enjoy the company.

Jerk?? You're the one nitpicking your friends for not washing dishes to your golden standards. Hand them a towel and tell them to dry, or wash them again after they leave. Or you know, lose sleep over it, your call.

I am always happy with my invited friends and family to join us in a meal. I always say leave the dishes I will do them later. Life is so short and Precious that we enjoy lots of great conversation laughter maybe tears just enjoy.  
You know I bet when you are on your dead bed you won't be saying " I wish they would of use more dish soap changed the water got a dry tea towel.....  
Think about dear .....

Next time your friends and relatives should not be nice and offer you to wash the dishes.  
If you are so unimpressed with how they wash your dishes insist more to not to wash the dishes and leave them some thing else to help with, or do everything by yourself.  
Or take dishwashing interview / test before they start their job.LOL

Be thankful you have friends and relatives around that come to your home. Not everyone does.

Just accept the help without complaining or tell them to leave them! First world problems for sure lol

some replies people have about this...geez. Your suggestions sucks!. How would you like if people does that to you. Rue didn't say it was the most problem encountered in life. Probably not big deal to leave the dishes to wash later and enjoy the company as some of you said but I find not that big deal to understand that some may like have dishes done perfect or not leave the dishes piled up for hours.  
Rue ...perhaps be straight forward and tell your guests you do not want insult anyone but you have your ways to do dishes so offer them:  
-to let you wash dishes and they can dry them  
-to tell them you want them add more water

easy solution, buy a dishwasher

I would just be happy that we have shared a meal and that they offered to help clean up. If someone else (ie- kids, spouse, friends, partner, etc) does any cleaning and it is not up to my standards, that's my problem. I would NEVER say anything about it to them. They are helping to the best of their ability, and I should be appreciative of it.

I know exactly what you mean. It also irritated me to go to someone else's house for a meal and then have to wash dishes by their standards. Blech. Made me hope I wouldn't get sick from the mean I just ate. Now-I do not invite anyone over and I turn down invitations to eat elsewhere. We can go out for lunch or supper if I want to get together with someone. At least in a restaurant we do not see how they do dishes or prepare meals and they use commercial dishwashers.

I want in on this club but do I have to be mean and miserable when I'm really not?

If people coming over and helping lend a hand after dinner, by helping w the dishes, but not up to your standards is worthy of s thread on ebrandon.....I believe you probably have bigger fish to fry in your life.

Instead of Jerks Club, can we go with something a little more with the times, might be more accepting. League of Jerks, Fantastic Jerks, walking Jerks or whatever...

I really feel bad for the people whom were your guests. Hope they do not accept your invitation next time with this kind of additude that goes behind their back.

I'd rather go out to eat with friends and family. Entertaining is stressful for me. Having someone in my kitchen helping although well meaning...no no no!  
I think I would opt to redo the dishes if necessary after company leaves. The risk of offending them is too high if you say anything. Just my opinion.

when I first started this discussion all I was asking is does this bother you YES or NO not a bunch of rude remarks & yes I know there are more important things going on.  
So to all the jerks & jerketts if you do not like the discussion move along & go wash some dishes.

Loading the dishwasher....means I am getting the gf drunk...

personally I would let them do the dishes and make sure I put them away. That way, when they are gone I could consider them rinsed and rewash them.  
It really only bothers me when i see stuff left on the dishes or see people washing dishes in dirty water. (I always rise dishes clean before they are in the wash sink (no dirty water))  
But if it Bothers me I would just rewash later.

You should appreciate the fact you have friends who join you for dinner, if you are going to be petty enough to complain about their dish washing skills then go back to eating your dinner alone. sorry Rue but you didn't actually ask a yes or no answer, you asked if it bothered people and if they rewashed afterwords, and i believe you got that answer:  
 
i think the majority of the people(jerks) are saying No it doesnt bother them, they rather have the company and they are gracious enough find a way to avoid the situation using various means and they are suggesting you do too
