For a beginner what would be the best one to get & can you buy them in Brandon ?

At Canadian tire on sale two weeks ago I believe for $89 or so. Doesn't work well for anything deeper than 6inches or so though.

does that mean they are all they same as far as detecting 6inches deep or the more expensive ones detect deeper ?

Has one worth just shy of $1000 and it can only detect up to 45cm (a foot and a half) or so. Really not a great investment.

There are other features that make one more expensive..depth isn't necessarily better.Buy what you can afford..do some research online so you not stuck spending alot of money for something you may not enjoy down the line.There is abit of a learning curve and some don't take the time,get frustrated and end up with it sitting in the garage or basement.Cdn Tire had some BountyHunters which are a good beginning model..I'd stay away from the Princess Auto ones unless you do some research first on the models they offer.Unfortunately MB doesn't have many retailers..try Cdn Tire..maybe Cabelas... https://www.kellycodetectors.com/catalog/library/five-questions/ https://www.metaldetector.com/learn/buying-guide-articles/kids/best-beginners-metal-detectors

If you want excellent advice, talk to Jeff. He will not sell you a detector that will not meet your needs plus he has many options that he can and will discuss with you.
