I need to gain experience - bookkeeping

Through the years, I have been taking accounting courses and now would like to start gaining experience.
Although my education is on-going, I would like to put it to use.
I have completed many courses to date, such as,but not limited to:
Financial Accounting 1+2
Payroll
HR Management
Economics 1+2
etc.
And earning a 3.9-4.0 G.P.A.
Is there anyone hiring, or willing to hire, someone with no experience in the field, but has textbook knowledge of bookkeeping?
I have tried many places, but to no avail.
