Taking my mom (70 yrs) to meet up with my sister and my aunts in September.  
 
Suggestions on "must sees" that do not including anything too strenuous for a senior with arthritis?

The Zoo is amazing...so pretty

My husband and I just went there for our honeymoon.  
 
Highly recommend whale watching with Flagship...we got to see 4 gray whales and by booking online, you save 10%. It was about 3 hours and they were incredible. This particular line partners with a local aquarium so you're given so much information about the whales. You're also given a history of the bay which is just fabulous. I think we paid just over $80 for the two of us and it was absolutely incredible. We also did this between 2 big walking days and it was very comfortable and the sea wasn't too rough.  
 
The zoo is very hilly but incredible. There are tours and a bus that you can take and ride around which we did a bit as we were getting very tired.  
 
Sea World is neat, but again a lot of walking.  
 
Seaport village was neat. Right on the water with a lot of restaurants and quaint shops.  
 
The midway was awesome (old navy ship/landing strip), and if you kept to the top deck and first floor inside the ship, it would be very doable for your mom.

Check out www.trolleytours.com .....We found it was the best, most relaxing way to see the city. The guides are excellent. And you can "hop-on, hop-off" at any of the stops,that interest you. We got off at one of the stops on Coronado Island for lunch and toured the Hotel del Coronado. The aircraft museum The Midway, is very interesting....but there is a lot of walking and up and down stairs and I found it so interesting I needed the whole day to explore it. And of course the world famous San Diego Zoo.

San Diego is beautiful have relatives down their ! They took us around sightseeing, Seaport Village, the Zoo, Hotel del Coronado, Old town of course the beaches too , La Jolla beach! Good pair of walking shoes for sure, lots of walking!!!

The Hotel Coronado is a must see. Not to stay in unless you have an unlimited budget

There is lots to see and do in San Diego, considering your mum's age I think she would love Coronado.

We had a fantastic time there and so much to see. One of the only places i would move to. Loved it.
