Mist said "Hello!
I have two questions. First is there a way to get kids under 16 an ID card, aside from a Passport? (not enough time!). And where would I go for it?
He did have a school ID but of course it's been lost.
And do you need a Passport to go to or from the Peace Gardens or does ID and Birth Certificate work?
(I know Passport is preferred but if there is not enough time for one)
Thanks!

From the peace gardens website:
ocedures at the United States and Canadian Border Crossings
Prior to arriving at the gate entrance to the International Peace Garden, visitors will drive past the USA Port of Entry or the Canadian Port of Entry. You are no longer in either of these two countries. Departing the International Peace Garden, a stop is required at the Port of Entry, of the country you wish to enter. Border Services requires and records identification on all vehicle passengers. A passport is the preferred document and expedites the process. The International Peace Garden does not mandate the identification requirements.
For information call: CDN Port of Entry 204-534-6820 or USA Port of Entry 701-263-4513
You may be best to call and see what alternate ID would be acceptable for your children before making a drive down.
