I am taking my daughter for her first tent camping trip for one night to see how it goes. Has anybody been to spruce woods this season and have the recovered from all of the flooding? We used to go there and it was amazing but just wanted to be sure that the bathrooms are good, the beach is good and it is still an enjoyable experience for a young child.

from Spruce Woods on Friday and it is wonderful. It is pretty much booked up on weekends but during the week there is lots of room. have to pay for showers now so bring your loonies or toonies!

I hadn't been down in years, last time thought it was quite run down and this was before the flooding.  
 
Drove out last week just for the evening and thought it was phenomenal! They have new signage, many improvements have been made. I want to go back soon or for a daytrip.

We were down tenting mid-June & and the sites in the lower camp area were wonderful. The only evidence of flooding was the different vegetation :-) Beach is beautiful, will definitely be heading back.

We've gone already this year and intend to return Very soon!!  

The camp grounds are in good condition the beach is nice but could use some more picinic tables pine fort is nice to have there for a quick ice cream or snack after a day of swimming there is a nice play structure both by the beach and upper camp ground wash rooms and showers are clean the showers are now coin operated but a toonie gets you lots of time unless your a teenage girl as for the different vegetation which a previous post mentioned all it is now is weeds tons of poison ivy dandelions thistles burdock you name a weed it will be there beach area has no grass what so ever just solid weeds

Is the main road off of HWY 5 open? Last September it was closed and the detour was in effect.

Yes the main road off of 5 is open. Just finished camping there for the long weekend. Wonderful stay. Beach was awesome.... Lots of weeds and stay out of the bush, so much poison ivy. Can't wait to go back. There is the Dusty Mile that's minutes from spruce woods. Spent one night there. Amazing owners and everyone staying there was so friendly. So inviting and love seeing all the campers get together for a visit I'm the evenings! One of a kind place.  
Can't wait to go back to both places. Leaning more towards the dusty mile tho
