I am hoping some of you are either in Calgary or know it well enough to help with this. Both my siblings live in Calgary and they both lost their partners this year, so it will be a hard Xmas. I would like to arrange for them to go out for Xmas dinner and maybe to a movie or something that will keep them from sitting around feeling sad. So, please, if you know of good places to eat that I could contact about Xmas dinner, please give a shout. Thank you.

the North West or Downtown

Try Vero Bistro Moderne. I know they were serving last Christmas. Very good as well. They are located NW Calgary.  
 
Or for a really good Christmas buffet try Barclays at the Sheraton Eau Claire. Turkey, Alberta beef, seafood. Its yummy!

There is probably not much open but I've heard that Silver Dragon is really good!! It's southeast though.

for your suggestions, I think we have a plan!
