Was thinking of maybe doing a 4 day weekend trip to Toronto. Hoping to catch a Blue Jays game and maybe do the hockey Hall of Fame . I've been to Trono but it was a many many years ago . I think I can probably land a pretty good deal with West Jet for a flight but as far as the hotels to stay at downtown could be a bit pricey unless there are some summer deals going on that someone might know about . I also remember that it was complete chaos at the Toronto international airport trying to line up a ride into the city . Would be better if I could fly into the island airport but I don't know those connections . Also would it be better to buy the tickets for the game online or just walk up? From looking at it on TV it looks like the WestJet flight deck is an exciting area to watch the game . It's really too bad I could not just fly from Brandon but that trip is not being offered. Any tips and information would be appreciated

Been there done that. Hoping to go back in August. There is a few hotels that are 4-7 blocks away that are a little more affordable. there is a couple best westerns that aren't gunna break you. Getting out of the airport was easy, cab or limo. I think it was $60??  
As for the game, if you want the flight deck, just buy the cheap seats online, everyone that has a seat can wander in to the flight deck if there is room(first come, first served. It's a blast. Go early and claim your spot in the flight deck. Take turns goi ng to the bathroom so you don't lose your spot.  
If you want regular seats in the crowd, most of the good ones are sold, so you would have to pick some up off stub hub or re-sellers off the street. Depending if the bj's get back into the race or not, could be easy to get tix or not.

Fly Winnipeg to Hamilton and take GO train for 12.10$ to Union station downtown Toronto.

where did you stay? what was the price?Looking for a good downtown location that wont break the bank? The Cambridge Suites and Super 8 are a possibility. What do you think? Did you walk or take transit?

I did it when they were in Minneapolis on May Long last year, it was a blast!

I went for a series last year when the direct flight was going.  
 
The train from the Toronto airport to Union Station was $11 per person and travelled every half hour. Same for returning.it worked well and only has 2 or 3 stops in total.  
 
We stayed at the Sheraton Centre. It wasn't cheap. It was about a 25 minute walk to the game. Just watch for deals on sites like Expedia.

at one of the holiday inn express hotels downtown. We walked everywhere. There is also a holiday inn downtown and a super 8. These will run about $250-$300. It is a bit of walking, you wouldn't want to just run back to the room a couple times during the day. The price of hotels goes up the closer you get to the entertainment district. How you shuttle from the airport kind of depends how many you are travelling with. Limo or cab($60.00/4people=$15/ person)direct to your hotel. or Train $15.00/person to the train station, plus a cab or walk to your hotel.

I second the suggestion to fly to Hamilton. Even better, that is a New Leaf location. I found a day New Leaf was flying and booked WestJet which price matches on those days. Return flight for August 6 to 12 from Wpg to Hamilton was $825 including taxes for my wife, daughter, and I. Yankees in town then for four straight Monday through Thursday followed by Pirates on the weekend.

We are going to a Jays game in Seattle in June. Staying at air bnb apartment for 100 Canadian a night. You can get a similar price in Toronto close enough to sky dome

I worked there for 4 years and went to about 10 games/year. You can get the best seats from the "resellers" out front but make sure you know where you want to sit (Section Numbers, Row-range) and what the box office price would be. It is written on the ticket, but the season ticket holder gets a bit of a discount off of that price. The price varies by who the opposition is and how well the Jays are doing. For Yankees and Red Sox you will pay more than regular and they won't negotiate. Some teams you can get them for less than cost. You will find out the true price when you walk away from them and they don't make another offer, then walk to the next guy and start again. Many of them work together so if you want to sit in a certain spot they might get a buddy to come over. They seem shady but really they aren't.
