Planing a trip down to minot for a little shopping and overnight stay. Any suggestions. We have never been.

Check out visitminot.org. There are usually some pretty good room rates under Deals.

Good shopping and deals at Minot! Hotels like the Microtel and Sierra Inn cost less than $70 a night (Sierra has a deal for Canadians for $56). Don't forget to go online and print off coupons for stores before you go. Gordmans, Menards and Kohls are near the mall and worth checking out.  
 
If you care to venture downtown, "The Starving Rooster" is a cool restaurant that serves wood fire pizza. There is also a small zoo in Minot that's nice for families to visit and a movie theatre in the mall for those who tire of shopping! Have fun!

Book on Expedia and "pay now" and you will pay in Canadian rather than pay later and pay in American. If your into shopping check out the mall, kohl's, gordmans, shoe carnival, tj maxx, Walmart and Kmart. Go to the visit Minot website and you can check out a lot and maybe pickup a visitors guide!

Definitely recommend The Starving Rooster! Great craft beer, pizza and atmosphere is awesome!  
 
Water slides and the bounce jump at the mall are good too.
