I am wondering if anyone knows if first nations are allowed to hunt in the Brandon Hills year round with it being wildlife management area?

I think it would be pretty risky to be hunting in the Brandon Hills with so many going there for hikes.

Farmers Feed the World said "Hunting at night is also a dangerous activity but the native leaders are pushing back on banning this practice. Common sense isn't all that common. "

There has been some headway on night hunting and native leaders. Native leaders are saying if you can't get an animal during the day they shouldn't be out at night.  
 
Don't forget there is now another population competing and that is Metis.  
 
Pretty sure animals will be giving birth right away and anyone knows (I know some natives that don't hunt right now) you don't shoot the mom's with babies.

Metis laws of the harvest state no big game hunting from January 15th to July  
15th. During the rest of the year,  
no hunting of female big game if animal is  
accompanied by offspring under one-year old.  
 
I'd also like to say, as it's very likely, that any females at this time of year would have newborns close by. Just because a doe or cow is alone doesn't mean she is alone. fawn or calf could be hidden nearby.

Like anything else things do change over the years (i.e work tools, clothing, family statues, etc.) so Brandon hills has a lot more trails than used to be 15-20 years ago and for sure a lot more popular for cyclist, runners, skiers/snowshoers and walkers. For a small area of Brandon hills there are a lot of attendance there, many cars in the parking lot especially weekends and some evenings it is becoming more a public place to go to it is like a park I do hope that the Westman trail association will prevent people for going hunting in the Brandon hills and hunting year around is little scary I find you will know who is there in the woods hunting. Brandon hills isn't just woods anymore it is busy with people using the trails not as fancy look or maintained trails as Clear Lake or Sprucewoods but I consider it as being a park can people hunt in parks?  
There are good safe hunters and there bad not thinking hunters and I am sure some people do know that some hunters hunt while part being drunk. Not not good with combination of public attendance.

How did this discussion become about drunk hunters??? The OP asked if first nations were allowed to hunt in brandon hills. To answer the original question, yes, first nations and metis are allowed to hunt in Brandon Hills. To make a blatant statement that hunters are drunk is not only offensive, but is not what this post is about. It is perfectly legal to hunt in the Brandon Hills, if you don’t like it, find another path to walk

you over react here it is pretty much on 1 line was mentioned drunk hunters and made it like the entire discussion is about drunk hunters.  
This is only discussions and opinions here not a place of final statements to be written on a law book so relax.
