Drove on oil soaked gravel hwy 110 construction area. Vehicle is now covered with tar/oil. Any ideas how to remove it?

I had this problem south of Boissevain a month ago. Get a few cans of tar removal or any solvent removal (w-sol removal) and some older micofiber cloths. Test a spot so you don't end up scratching a spot. Have lots of patience. Wash your vehicle afterwards.

Yup, I second WD40. Removes glue as well as many other things than just a so-so lubricant.

Two choices diesel or wd40 I work in the field that's what we use. And really? Who uses gas on paint? Give your head a shake.

No question, gas will remove the tar. I'm sorry though, it's way to flammable to be safe to use and very hard on some paints.

I'm all for WD40, it works very well.

These roads have been in chaos all summer. It's a disaster zone. Are they just widening the shoulder and what's taking so long? We've had great weather.

There's a lot more then just great weather that goes into road work, there busting there butts out there even when it was plus 40. My god you people complain it looked awful now people complain it's taking too long. Get a life and stop complaining it's summer in Manitoba we should all be use to construction by now!

As much as it sucks at this point with the construction on the 110 highway, once its done there will be no need for dikes or sandbags along that road again and very little traffic disruptions when it floods again. And there's a pretty good chance that down the road there will be flooding again, we do live in Manitoba.

My truck got covered south of Boissevain last month too. They were just ready to pave and it poured. I did a little research and ended up using varsol or paint thinner. The advice I got was use the weakest necessary solvent. I followed with good strong soap.

Does anyone know if their raised the quality of the low road as well? It used to be a B1 road, wondering if that's still the case.
