pap smears

hello,
last time i went to get my birth control pills at the newmount medical walk-in clinic on 18th i was told i should be getting a pap smear. The doctor did not tell me where i can get this done or who has to do it... i am very nervous about this and don't want a man to do it. No offense i would just rather a woman. Does anyone have a information/suggestions that might help. This would be the first time ever getting it done and i am not sure what to do. Is this something you can go to a walk-in clinic and have done? What can i except?
