the world economy is not recovering due to Trumps doing. It is rather a result of policies introduced by the Obama administration. Trump is just taking credit for it. The results of his introduced tax cuts are also not what the middle class and people of the lower income bracket were hoping for. Most of that money saved did not flow back into the economy (i.e. new investments, increased wages, etc) but instead went into the private coffers of investors and the already very rich. But this is what Trump stands for. Looking at his past private business practices (including six bankruptcy proceedings), his attitude and level of knowledge of world trade seems to reflect in his dealings with the major trade partners of the US which will certainly not "make America great again".

I guess one could argue politics to try and decide which political party has created the greatest growth or benefits tothe American economy, but for myself, we are reaching the point that continued stimulus is not going to change anything.  
Going back to the late 1960’s and early 70’s the American balance of trade started to become a problem, and since that time successive governments have followed similar policy, that policy was to provide money to keep the American economy going.  
The laws of supply and demand apply regardless of the political system, which is something that the United States, as well as other developed countries forgot.  
Technology, as well as population growth and concentration of wealth, has brought us to a place that history has been before. Many governments have followed the same policy, but it doesn’t matter which country it is, living beyond your means on borrowed money, ends up bad, and if it is a major world power that it happens to, the results are usually world changing events.  
No party can go on forever, sometimes a hard lesson to learn.

Guess I’m the contrarian here, there has been a lot of activity even in the city of Brandon, how many new eating places have opened in the last year, or are in the development stage. This has happenened thoughtout Canada as well as many countries around the world. If we were to look at Brandon on would have to wonder where all the money is going to come from to support the existing places, as well as new places, much expansion has been done for two reasons. Chain franchises always strive to increase market share, even if it means moving into markets that previously didn’t fit the plan, its the idea that if you don’t continue to grow, you will go backwards. The second reason does have to with accepting the idea that government can bring back greatness to a nation.  
I’ve been wrong many times but my outlook for the economies of the world is not that rosie.  
Nations are not creating wealth by producing, and with a global capacity to produce anything at a surplus, competition will keep production limited, but prices will rise because of trade problems.  
Back to the interest rates, looking at the next few years I think we will see interest rates fall with the realization that the global ability to overproduce will bring this optimism to a halt.
