a lot depends on who is reading an article. Bias can be shown also by the reader, not only the writer.

I had not read this link either but when I did it pretty much echoed my concerns that I see on my own reading and following of the Conservative party.  
 
But again you do not want to make your opinions based on one article. Everyone has a bias. Be aware of that and look at various different sources to get your information and a person can have a good balance in their views. Try to see the issues from both sides.

has bias one way or another. And there are various stages of bias. And we also have confirmation bias where we agree more with information that agrees with our bias. Some are flexible with information they get while others are solidity strict to take information only from sources that confirm their bias.  
 
From my Facebook, I know many die hard conservatives who only take information from one type of source. If you try to tell them different from another source, oh boy!! That's usually where you get called a brainwashed liberal sheep,don't drink the "kool-aid" told not to believe anything that doesn't come from a conservative source, aka MSM.  
 
So the link I shared, to some may seem to be wrong according to their bias. There's no doubt it may not be 100% factual, but from what I see from many of my conservatives friends, there is a fair bit of truth. Today's Conservative Party is trending towards trumpism and that is fact. Many of my conservative friends love trump and wish he was in charge of Canada. So they selected someone who has those same trumpian views, O'Toole. Just look through his Twitter and Facebook, many things echo trump. This is not the same Conservative Party as pre-Harper.

last week on his show along with his guest dive into why people support trump and believe what they did is right. And that 1 out of 5 Canadians believe trump won.

i have is that people should not provide links for opinion pieces who are out to smear another political party's reputation. And it was an opinion piece.

been impeached for the second time. 10 Republican's voted for impeachment. Now to see what the Senate will do. If they convict, he can no longer hold any public office. So for some who want trump to be no longer involved or be able to run in 2024 this is attractive. But for those who want to keep the base voting for them, they won't convict. So do they vote to keep the toxicity of the base or cut it off.

on social media where people are saying he's never been impeached because the Senate didn't convict. By that logic Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were never impeached.  
 
It's the House of Representatives who impeach and once the House votes to impeach, that's it. Weather or not the Senate convicts doesn't matter. All they decide is if he's to be removed from office or not.

I understood that he will now stand trial in the senate . Of course President Trump is guilty of these charges but that doesn’t mean that the senate will necessarily see it that way.  
They have such a messed up political system south of the border .

Senate will not deal with it until after. Then there is an equal rep and vice president breaks a tie if necessary.  
 
This is important to happen as it cuts him off from a lot of benefits of being an former president like security, $1 million, health benefits, etc.

They need 67 to vote for conviction not just 51/50. Hopefully there are 17 republican's to convict him.

I read that on the BBC . Democrats can’t convict President Trump on their own. At least 17 Republican senators have to vote with the Democrats. Hopefully enough of them can see the damage that he has caused to the country, it’s people and their own party.  
Even if President Trump is convicted there will still be years of work to heal the country’s divisions. We have to remember that he really played on the prejudices and insecurities felt by a good chunk of the American electorate, a few choice speeches and tweets over the years and he had millions of people fired up to support him, maybe more so then he anticipated. I think that the USA is going to have to take a long hard look at itself , it’s values, it’s place on the world stage and it’s political system.

Yes, he has been impeached but that is equivalent to saying a grand jury has agreed that there is enough evidence to charge someone with a crime. That doesn't mean he's been found guilty of said crime. The Senate is the jury of that trial and they will decide if he is guilty. The problem, of course, is that the jury has most likely decided on guilt or innocence before the evidence is presented. They are not unbiased and many Republican Senators will vote to acquit just to appease their base.  
Yes, he is a 2-time popular vote losing, twice impeached, 1-term president but he wont be found guilty of these charges, simply because Republicans don't have the courage to stand up against him and their base.

There are still too many who are loyal to him and wouldn't even consider convicting him. They has already determined the outcome.

Probably but President Trump has burned a lot of bridges recently and quite a few that have long been loyal to him just struggle to comprehend especially the events in Washington last week. It may be enough to make a conviction but only time will tell.

It's not actually 67, it's 2/3 of those present at the time of the vote. If 10 don't show up, they only need 60 votes out of 90 to convict. Although I can't see many avoiding the vote because they'll be accused by Trumpists of it being the equivalent of a yes vote, so the result for them isn't much better.  
 
And to clarify, conviction doesn't automatically disqualify him from running for future office. The Senate will decide what his punishment should be, with banning him from running in the future being one of the options.  
 
My prediction - some of the Republican senator comments speaking positively about impeachment are a warning to Trump not to do any more crazy stuff in his last few days (issue a crazy amount of pardons, including for all the rioters from last week, and maybe family members, increase aggressions with Iran, etc). When it comes time to hold the actual impeachment trial, they will quietly vote no to avoid the wrath of the Trump voter base and protect their chance of being re-elected.
