All you ever hear is that there is no difference between a gun and other weapons that a person could use, honestly that is laughable.  
When someone is Trying to compare something like a knife or bat or even a auto to a gun they need to understand that the differences are enormous. A knife or a bat has to be physically used and you have to be pretty close to be effective, if you swing a bat and miss there is recovery time, same as a knife if you are stabbing. With an auto you only get one pass, so although deadly it’s completely different.  
I don’t mind guns, they can be an important tool at times, and they can also provide recreational use, but in both of these you don’t need a clip or magazine that hold a lot of shells, if magazine size was reduced to 3-5 shots as well as making a gun slightly more difficult to reload it would give people a bit of a chance.  
I have a semiautomatic shotgun, which allows me to do the Rambo thing if for some strange reason I want to do that, but it only holds 5 shells and reloading takes time. The problem with these mass shooting is the amount of lead that can be targeted at people in such a short time, it’s not physically hard to do and reloading is quick.
