USA removal protections of endangered species

Did this just go quietly through?
I try to avoid news especially Trump news.
Were there protests etc? Didn’t hear anything.
If not have the Americans not care anymore about anything? Or too afraid to speak out.
In the 70’s there would have been never ending protests: by groups, universities students etc.
Too bad something like this and many other things have gone without a struggle.
Our people do into online that they think that is enough for protesting.
Just sad.
