What is all this nonsense about 'Left wing' CBC? 'Right' wing or conservative view points only work in a 'right' wing or conservative world. The world is neither and never will be, there is too much variety even in our small country (population wise). If trying to appease both sides by taking a traditional liberal view is 'left wing' than so be it. Besides, anyone who thinks its 'left' should really listen or watch some french CBC sometime. They have a fair share of 'right' wing views there.
I'm just sick of hearing the SAME DARN MUSIC on all the radio stations being played on repeat and were busy believeing the LIES that its popular music. Have you listened to some of the call in shows? Literally call ins from states across the US and who knows WHEN those call ins were placed.
I listen to CBC regularly. I remember how over a year or so ago they had Bedouin Soundclash on before they were known. Now that band has won several major music awards and is on the top 40. This has occured several times. Not that the CBC radio made their career, but they certainly picked out the gold before private radio even knew what was coming.
CBC radio has regularly won awards for some of the BEST RADIO IN THE WORLD and nations across the planet try to emulate us in their own fashion. Its something to be proud of and support. Late night radio has voices from nations such as South Africa, Russia, and Netherlands regularly.
I grew up listening to it in a place where it was the only signal we could get because private radio didn't think we were worthwhile. CBC reached us and let us know what was going on in almost all the provinces and territories of Canada.
I like color in my world, I like differences, I eat more than just white bread and butter.
I will gladly pay for top notch award winning diverse and dynamic radio any day of the week.
