Israeli Commandos Attack Supply Ships in International Waters
5/31/2010 at 12:42 PM
-Approximately 1000 soldiers/commandos attacked 6 Free Gaza supply ships today. 15 people have been killed in International waters as the commandos used live ammunition on unarmed civilians.
-The Free Gaza Flotilla was carrying medical supplies, food, toys, etc to blockaded Palestinians.
-Israeli government reports claim passive resistance from 5 of the six ships, however the largest 6th ship was said to be defended by some crew with sticks and knives. IDF also claims some crew disarmed their commandos and tried to kidnap soldiers.
-IDF statements have made clear that these were the BEST commandos available to them (Arguably the best in the world)
-The ships are being taken into Israeli waters where all crew from the Free Gaza Flotilla will be dealt with.
Note: I'm no lawyer, but if you board a ship outside of your legal territorial waters, and take all the crew into your own waters under gun point, couldn't that be construed as kidnapping? Isn't that what Somali pirates do?
-There is currently a news blackout being imposed by the Israeli Defence Forces with no reporters or independent 3rd parties being allowed access.

Opinion:
What justice is this? Seriously, how can anybody think this is a fair and rationale response? Alright, fine, these ships are coming, you want to stop them, you couldn't wait until their in YOUR legal boundaries to attack?
Just like a couple weeks ago, some militants fire a couple rockets into an Israeli city, they don't hurt anyone, not even a scratch, so gunships get sent in and kill 10 Palestinian civilans in response. I wonder how many survivors will be building rockets now?
If only attempted murder were punishable by the mass execution of unrelated people in the same city.
