The Saddam Hussein hanging seems to be bringing the death penalty debate to the forefront again. I'm wondering where Brandonites stand on it.  
 
Personally even though Hussein was the most vicious of criminals I have a hard time justifying a legal killing. Any time the death penalty comes up in general, I have a hard time with the hypocrisy of killing someone because they killed someone else.. its basically saying that to kill is okay under "morally acceptable" circumstances.  
 
Based on all of the things Hussein was saying, I think its pretty safe to say that rehabilitation wasn't going to be very effective. Right until his dying moments he constantly defended things that are undisputably disgraceful.. but whats wrong with locking the guy up in a jail cell for the rest of his life?
