rocket trailer in sky

I don't know if this is the right site for this but last night Sunday September 26th, on my way to Rivers lake going north on 270 I saw what I am sure would be exhaust trailer from what looked like a rocket. It was going straight up so it wasn't an airplane. was there testing being done out west??
