Murderous Dictator Vs Democracy

Baby Doc Duvalier has returned to Haiti.
Quick Reivew:
-Elections last month banned the Largest political party, Lavalas.
-With the largest party banned (Think equivalent of entire Conservative and Liberal Party combined, banned), less than 20% turnout in said election.
-Leader of Lavalas Party, Jean Bertrand Aristide, exiled for a number of years now. Even though he was elected, democratically, not once, but TWICE.
Now a former dictator, Baby Doc Duvalier, is welcomed back to Haiti. A dictator that oversaw tens of thousands of deaths, the rape of an entire economy, and is generally a wicked man by most definitions.
If our influence can't prevent the return of this man, what use are we at all? Are we condoning it? Accepting it? I think so.
Canada might only have a small part in Haiti, but we use our good will and degrade our good name, by saying nothing against this.
