Interesting the controversy in the states that the media is generating about Ahmadinejad's visit to the US. I find it interesting because when Musharraf, the Pakistani dictator was a guest on the daily show nobody seemed to care one bit. Obviously Ahmadinejad says some pretty reactionary and stupid things, but he is a elected president, and has no say in foreign policy nor is he the leader of the armed forces in Iran. Musharraf, on the other hand, came to power in a coup, has nuclear weapons, DOES have dictatorial control of all aspects of the country including the army and has a terrible human rights record. Why wasn't anyone excited about him giving speeches?
