isis spending... 528 MILLION Dollars  
2015 Canadian population... 35.6 million  
 
I don't know about you, but I think every Canadian would have settled for $15000000 each over this mission... I can think of a lot of things here on our home soil that could have benefited from that kind of contribution. yes I'm aware 528 is projected... so the current 122 MILLION that we have spent is still 3 million dollars for every Canadian.

I am not sure if you didn't type what you meant or if your math is just off.  
 
If projected cost is 528 million dollars and population of Canada is 35.6 million - the cost per person is $14.83  
 
If cost to date is 122 million, the cost per person is $3.43.  
 

I am confused as to why we should not get involved. What is our military for? Why do we pay to have one if we never intend to use one. No I didn't sign up but the people who are in the military did so by choice knowing there is a chance of combat.  
As for the people getting recruited..... Let them go, take their passport, get them a one way ticket and don't let them back in.  
If Canada does not support other countries that are fighting terrorism, they will not support us in our time of need. Don't hide your head in sand. It is just a matter of time before something happens here.

Good points. There is much to do at home. Yet ISIL is already here. That goof in Winnipeg who now is in trouble simply by being a public supporter is minor.  
 
They are on social media and that is global.  
 
They are in businesses to raise money for their cause and they do not recognize borders. They can and will cause that crap to happen here once they see a need. Even if it is to raise cash.  
 
I think these guys have more than a middle east mind set and or targets.  
 
As long as we are part of the global economy with our country men/women working and traveling the world order we need to be involved.  
 
Re vets offices. Two sides to that. People move. It makes sense to distribute the offices as needed. As technology advances we should use it.  
 
In the end it is part of the new reality the world over. Urban/rural split. Services go where they serve the most.

Why do North Americans, USA and Canadians, call the Gulf the golf. It was always the Gulf during the 2 years that I was there.

Your calculations were, in fact, correct. However, your $14.83 and $3.43, should be in Millions.  
 

common tater is right, it is 14 dollars and 83 cents per person. Basic math.

I'll take freedom over security any day. As for the "I don't have anything to hide, so I don't care" argument - I don't have anything to hide either, but more importantly I don't want anyone (ie the government) looking without just cause.

Is 40 thousand fighters, there are over a half a million middle eastern troops in the region, they could fight ISIS if they wanted too, they have all the American equipment planes tanks helicopters.What more do they need.

You mean most of the equipment Isis jacked from ISF ? It's funny how people can talk out their ass when they haven't seen what it's like on the ground . Isis needs to be wiped out or everything that was done will be for nothing . We need to hit the ground running and I wouldn't have a problem going . Those who think they are not a threat fell free to head over and have a cup a tea and see how that goes.
