Quite Vividly

I recall this exactly.
I was in grade six. It was recess and we were out playing soccer in the yard (we didn't go far in to the field due to the cold) One of the boys in my class had gone in to the washroom and overheard the teachers in the lounge talking about it and he ran out to tell us all. I don't recall much after that, but those few minutes were quite vivid for me.
I know we had a discussion about it as soon as we got back in to class as we had a sciencey teacher and he explained how the rockets worked and what might have happened...this was of course before the advent of 24/7 news coverage and at the time we only had three channels to watch in our small town. This was in a time that the only real news we had was at 6 pm, so we were all glued to the sets at dinner time for the next week.
What a scary day that was!
