Now's the time to invest in California!

I was just reading about the foreclosure situation in the US and they mention Stockton, California as leading the US in the first quarter of '08.
Stockton is a city about half the size of Winnipeg an hour from San Francisco and a half hour from Sacramento.
For fun I did a search and I just about dropped my jaw at what you can get for an estimated sale price of $92,900 US:

Hard to believe the same place up here would be worth over 3x as much!
Would certainly make for a nice winter getaway for a few weeks. US property purchases have been touched on on here a bit in the past, but has anyone started to think about going 3 or 4 ways on something like that in Cali, Arizona, Florida, etc?
