With today being the 15th Anniversary of 9/11, what were you doing at the time when you saw the newsflash of the devastation in New York and Arlington, Virginia?  
 
Myself, I was only 9 years old and in 3rd grade. After O' Canada, our principal called all of the staff to an emergency meeting. Our teacher came back crying, which left us worried most of the day, as things were quiet. It wasn't until when I got home from school, that I saw on CNN a replay of the second plane striking the South Tower. I thought it was some kind of movie at first. But then, seeing my mother cry and my father console her made me realize that not everything you see on TV is fiction. A tragic day for everyone.

I was up watching CTV and having coffee. I remember hearing them report that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. They then went to fee from New York. I saw the second plane hit Tower 2. It was frightening and very sad as you knew hundreds of people died when the planes had hit both buildings.  
 
I remember going over to my brother''s place and my niece thought the dust was snow. We didnt tell her other wise.

I had read something brief on one of the sites I regularly visited but since I was in a rush, I didn't pursue it further. I went to work and CJOB was playing all day instead of the usual Star FM so I learned quite a bit when I was near the radio.  
 
That night, I immediately called Star FM to make sure everyone there was OK because of their ties with CKLQ. Then at 7:00, one of the Frame It Or Flush it songs was "Start The Commotion" so I called to express my displeasure and vote for the other song.

I was watching CNBC business channel, which had the twin towers in the back ground, and we saw the smoke start right from the time that the first jet hit the tower, first off they thought it was a fire, and from that point on the story developed. Mentioned to a person last Monday morning the our weather on that day was similar to the morning of 9/11, it was a cooler morning, and early in the morning it was foggy but by the time the towers were hit the fog had lifted and it was just low cloud. We had planned on checking cattle and fences that morning, but until the collapse of the second tower we were glued to the television set watching the event happen.  
When one thinks back to watching it happen, some of the emotions still come back the same as they did on that day, and the thoughts of the families that lost members still make one sad.

I remember I was at work. Our boss came around and told all of the staff to come to the board room. I remember as I was walking into the boardroom the tv was on and the images were unimaginable. The boss simply said, the world as we know it changed this morning. Feel free to come and go or stay all day and watch was is going on. All of us sat glued to the tv for a very long period of time. I don't think anyone of us had he ability on that day to process what the hell was happening. Any clients I talked to that day, was about the attacks, not work related calls. 15 years later, I'm not sure I can process know what happened that day.

and everyone was trying to get on CNN website and it would simply not load.

For me the tragic events of that day are still shocking to watch.  
 
I was at work and got a call to get on the internet and watch what was happening. Sometimes I wish I hadn't, now understanding the suffering of so many people that day.  
 
The feelings from that day have never lost their clarity for me.  
 
We are at the mercy of those who wish us harm, but our belief in peace is what keeps us strong.

I sent my son who was grade 1 at that time to school. Then start giving breakfast to my toddler and I turned on TV exactly when the second plane hit the building. I was confused as what was going on if it was part of a movie but then realized and glued to TV. It looked like end of a movie ( I think was die hard) at the first, but then I coul not forget what was really happening to people on those buildings and surroundings.

And remember a teacher running in and saying the towers in NYC were hit... Our math teacher said lets all go to the media room, I remember the media room was packed shoulder to shoulder and not a person was talking!

I was actually living in Manhattan at the time going to school. I was still quite a way from ground zero though. I had just gotten up, got my breakfast, and managed to connect to my dial up internet no problem. Suddenly there was an instant message from a friend in Toronto saying she was so glad to see me online. When she realized I didn't know what was happening she told me to go turn on the TV and I saw the second plane hit. At that point I went back to the computer, logged off, and started to try and get a call to my parents. It took about 10 minutes to get a dial tone at that point the phone lines were so jammed. I got ahold of my parents just long enough to assure them I was safe and then got off the phone to free up the lines for others. So many surreal moments/memories from that day and the days/weeks that followed.

I was in Toronto on vacation with my first husband. I went down to get coffee, and when I came back to the hotel room, he was flipping channels, and it was on pretty much every channel. At first we didn't understand, it didn't seem real, it seemed like a movie. We were watching when the second plane hit. We were supposed to fly back to Winnipeg that afternoon, but were stuck in Toronto for 6 days, unable to get a flight back. Watching the TV programming this morning, I still find it emotional. There was a clip of a firefighter swearing when he watched someone jump to their death - he had no reason to believe that he wouldn't be able to get in there and save everyone who was left. And a clip of so many firefighters and emergency personnel running toward the towers even after the first one collapsed, with no way to know that they would undoubtedly be killed when the second one fell.

It was such a horrible event and even more brutal that it was an inside job orchestrated by the U.S. Government and the world bank leaders like the rothchilds just so people would be in agreement to go to war In the Middle East just for the oil.

Please explain. How was this orchestrated by the U.S. government?

I was at home watching TV talking to my mom on the phone the world as we knew it changed forever.

But that day my neighbour came  
And told me..... He stayed with me throughout the day watching tv because my ex was at work and he knew I would be worried. After a few days I shut the TV off.

You people seriously don't believe it was an inside job? Just do a bit of research for yourselves instead of believing everything you watch on tv.

Quit being a sheeple!!! So we are suppose to believe everything an anti-government, anti-consumerism, trying to sell books and video website says? What makes their information the truth? I find people who believe those sites are just followers and have no idea of what's actually being said. If they did they would not buy any of the B.S spewed by those websites.  
 
And yes your just as much a sheep than anyone else, you blindly follow websites that agree with your agenda.

had just woken up when I heard that an aircraft hit the WTC on the radio. I just thought it was like the B-25 that hit the Empire State building in fog. Thought maybe a similar small aircraft collided in foggy conditions. Went to watch it on TV, then I knew it was much more serious than a small plane hitting.

I made this thread so that fellow eBrandoners can share their stories of what they remember of that fateful morning. To me, 9/11 was the Pearl Harbor of our generation.

they''re all the same and battled them before. It''s sad that they have so much mistrust that they believe these "inside job" websites. And no matter what's said your not changing them.

I remember first hearing when I was in line for coffee and then headed to my first class which was a computer one and everyone was in disbelief watching the news. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure classes were pretty much cancelled that day by most profs.

pretty much everything was being shown live as it happened. You didn't have to wait for the noon hour or 6pm news to hear what's happening. I was glued to CNN for most of the day, my email inbox was filling up very quickly with CNN Breaking News emails.

is right. That's another post though. Was in Ridgetown Ontario at college. We went to the electronics store called kettles to get a cable for a friends tv. They have in one room 51 tvs set up. That's when the second plane hit. Crazy.

I was in grade 6 and our teacher stopped the class and we watched it on TV. I can't believe its been 15 years already.
