Best thing about the Trump victory is that he will keep Trudeau in line just by virtue of the policies he puts out. Particularly:  
 
1. There is no way Canada could put out a carbon tax because with Trump in charge there is no way the U.S. does. Putting one in Canada would make us wholly uncompetitive economically. It is a total cash grab anyways. This revenue neutral nonsense the Trudeau and his cronies were spewing is ridiculous.  
 
2. NATO guidelines say that a country is to spend 2% of GDP on military spending, Canada is currently at 1%. If we want US protection through NATO we will have to up our game as Trump has indicated the member nations will be held to account. Hopefully this means our government will look at some of the wasteful programs we have like the Child Tax Benefit in order to come up with the funds to meet the criteria without raising taxes.

So Trump's 3 kids and his son-in-law have been named to his transition team. Weird or what?

I was talking with a group of people on Sunday and suggested that very idea. I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I expect that's exactly how it will play out.

The poor fellow isn't even president yet, and he's got that look on his face that's says holy cr@p what have I have gotten into, going to change the world are you. Poor guy is facing a bit of a reality check all ready.

In a very divided politically country that exists right now. And he's a part of that divide.
