Hey just wanting to pick ebrandoners on opinions of which are good investments, rototiller wise, that is only a foot in width. I am in the market to buy one that will last for more than a few years. I would appreciate any advice on this endeavor: thank you!

I have a Honda and it’s been a good tiller. It’s nice and light and 4 stroke dependable.I do find that it works better pulling it backwards than it does going forward, it goes deeper is what I’m saying.

I bought a Stihl from Enns bro’s on the hill. Excellent machine very reliable and easy to use. I will admit to using Sthil’s own gas mix. That way I know it is good and will not harm the engine.

With Alexander Keith that the minis do work much better when pulling them backwards, they seem to dig in better.

I bought a 12 inch electric (120V) rototiller from Home Hardware.  
 
Already have a larger, gas engine, walk behind, but wanted something smaller and light enough to pick up and do raised beds.  
 
And it definitely works better going backwards. It is so light that the front of the tines rotating down, makes it jump around going forward. The rear side of the tines is rotating up, so pulling backwards makes it pull the tiller down a bit.
