Hi fellow gardeners! I have tried twice to grow mint seed indoors and haven't had any luck!  
is there a secret I don't know? lol

I think that mint might grow better if you start with a piece of root .

If you know anyone with some garden mint you can start plants easily from cuttings. I've brought bouquets of mint in from the garden and have had them start to root. When trying to start from seed did you use a seed starting mix? That might help. Also you're just supposed to gently press the seed into the soil but not cover them.

So if you know...... I have bought a bunch of mint for the grocery store..... would i be able to get a piece of it to root? I do know how to do that, lol

Attempting to root grocery store mint just might work. Are you trying to grow lots of it or are you only wanting a little windowsill pot? I didn't grow much mint this year but might be able to give you a cutting or two.

Just want a pot for the house. If you do grow outside mint is invasive isn't it?  
Was very hard to find it this year at grocery store i shop at and it's getting to be a smaller bunch.

The offer stands on giving you a cutting or two but if you didn't want to go that route then you might try the Global Market. I know they have had herbs but not sure whether it was in the form of leaves or cuttings. I got my plant through an eBrandon ad in the spring so I have no idea of what variety it is. This year I planted mine in a small raised bed but other years have had it right in the ground. I know it's considered invasive but have never had a real problem with it.

Best bet to start from seed is to barely cover the seeds and make sure they have light. I’ve grown spearmint and catnip mint inside and outside.
