I seem to have a lot of green tomatoes that aren’t turning colour anytime soon. Anyone else in this situation? Usually by September long weekend most of my tomatoes had turned red and the plants were dying off. I’ve even got new blossoms on some of my tomatoes.

Lots of green tomatoes and only 3 or 4 have ripened. I removed a lot of the leaves and any new flowers so the plant puts the energy into the fruit. The tomatoes are slowly turning red.  
For those tomatoes that stay green you can make a green salsa or fried green tomatoes.

Only pick what is ready right now.  
Just before the killer frost hits. Pick them all, even the green ones, keep in the fridge. Only take out what you need. But a few days in advance.  
Wrap the green ones in a blanket and keep them in a cool dark place in the house. In a few days, they will be ready to eat.  
Last year I was still eating garden tomatoes at the end of October.

It's mostly on pace from last year. Last year, I didn't start canning tomatoes until September. Most years I start mid- August for salsas etc that need smaller quantities.  
 
Mine have been steadily turning. Not a big rush like lots of years.  
 
Most things are about 2-3 weeks late. My apples are only now ripening/getting brown seeds. I usually pick them around Aug 21-25. I am starting to pick and use them, but won't do the majority of picking for another week yet.

Also, it depends on the varieties you planted. Determinate types will set and ripen their fruit all at once. Many are earlier types, although some are later. Indeterminate will continue to bloom and set fruit until freeze up if you don't actively pinch them off. I also find they tend to start ripening later.  
 
If you tried new-to-you varieties this year, they might be just a later type. But things are legit couple weeks late too.
