My boyfriend and I have just purchased our first home and it has a wonderful yard. The previous owner has obviously taken the time over the years to create such a beautiful lawn. There is a large garden for both vegetables and flowers( I assume because of the division of the garden), a few flower beds and vines along the house. I have never gardened before and my boyfriend will be too busy with work to help but I will really like to keep up with all the hard work the old owner has done.  
How do I start my garden and flower beds?  
What are the EASIEST things to grow!  
What can't I kill?  
And finally, what can I maintain keeping in mind, that I am on my own with this, with a young baby?
