Spud Bug Help
6/21/2009 at 1:30 PM
In recent years I have been decreasing my use of sprays and powders in the garden.
This year I am trying marigolds to deter potato bugs in the garden. I have 30 marigolds planted throughout the 80 hills of potatoes.
The plant leaves are still fairly small (not ready to hill yet) but I have found 17 spud bugs (and eggs on 4 leaves) in the last four days. The marigolds are blooming but still small also.
Any potato experts out there with advice? Do marigolds really deter the bugs? Any other natural (EASY & QUICK) remedies?
Did you know that spud bug guts stain leather work gloves? lol
