Have you ever frozen grated carrots?

We have lots of carrots this fall and I have poor luck storing them. I like to put grated carrots in lots of different dishes but I was wondering how well they freeze? I would think that if a person has to blanch them it would just turn to mush. I would like to hear if anyone has ever tried this and how it turned out. Do they work afterwards in jellied salads as well as in cooked recipes?
