Sandy Soil grass

Hey,
I have a very sandy yard. It's a brand new yard and is basically just sand right now. What type of grass should I plant? It's a big yard so I can't afford to put sod down but I would like to plant seeds and water them. Anyone know of a good, hardy, grass that I can plant?
