Finding help is nearly impossible around here.
We lost a gorgeous weeping birch withing about two week - same scenario you are telling. Our ornamental crab (there are so many of these beautiful old trees around town) - we were losing about a third of it each year to fire blight. We have spoken to Paton and his suggestions were less than helpful too.
It just sucks, you try and get these wonderful trees through to be hardy and sometimes there is nothing anyone can do.
