I realize this may sound VERY silly but...Wondering if anyone has any suggestions... There is a robins nest in one of the trees on my front lawn. This afternoon while attempting to do yard work on front I was repeatedly dive bombed by the robin protecting it's nest. I didn't touch the tree or nest by any means. Noticed shortly after there are two of them and the birds are so aggressive that I had to leave the front yard it got so bad. Any ideas on how I can get my front yard back from these birds and not be terrified to continue my yard work without being attacked????

I realize they are protecting their nest but unfortunately leaving my lawn cutting and yard work for a month isn't an option. Thanks for the info tho!

Get a broom or shovel and take care of it. Last time a robin dive bombed me it fell down after and the broom kept it away from me after

Go to a place that sell wide brimmed summer hats, they might still dive bomb you but the hat will give you protection from both the robins and the sun.

agree with Garret. I would take a badminton racquet with me and swing at swoopy birds. They will get as aggressive as you let them. I live in the country and I have had to claim my space from aggressive barn swallows. They learn. As soon as they figure out you are leaving their nest alone, they'll settle down.

We had that as well last summer - the Robins decided to build a nest just under the garage eave on the North side - beside my Studio - and yes, it did fly to us too - but after a while, just walking past it calmly and silently - it was content sitting on her nest while I walked past [like 4 feet close to it] - she was Zen and gave me a lovely experience bonding with nature - just don''t bother it - respect it - and it will be fine. Hope she comes back this year too!  
 
And yes, they nest as Couples! Its beautiful to watch them. Hope you enjoy the process.

I am assuming you want to cut grass etc. to make your little piece of nature space look nice? So here is my suggestion..get a big piece of cardboard, write in big letters MATERNITY WARD, quiet please, robins are raising babies here! end with " proud nature guardian!" nail it to a stake & post in your front yard (:

Why would you do that? Just plain cruelty!! Shame on you!! Have some respect for living creatures please.
