What is falling from my lilac blossoms?

I have a small bouquet wilting in the house. As I was looking at it, I noticed poppy seed sized things falling off of some of it.
The "seeds" are hard. They are not sticky or anything. The purple ones don't appear to be dropping anything and this did not happen when the flowers were still perky. I don't recall seeing this before. I am hoping they are not some sort of eggs.
I wanted to know if anyone might have an idea what it might be? I will try to post a few pictures.
