What are some good places in and around the Brandon area for fresh strawberry +/or other berry picking?  
 
Also, when are most places open for the "season" for this?  
 
I haven't gone since I was a kid and would enjoy taking my own now so looking for some fun places to spend a couple hours picking fresh berries! Don't mind a bit of a drive either.

If you don't mind a bit of a drive, I would recommend Mayfair Farms in Portage la Prairie (it's on the island.) I saw on their facebook page that as of yesterday, they figure it will be 2 weeks until they are ready.

Grand Valley Strawberries (just past Brandon Correctional Institute on Veteran's Way) is where we have gone for the past few years. Depending on the year, as I suppose with any strawberry farm, the berries vary in size, sweetness and quantity per plant. At Grand Valley there have been many awesome picking seasons and some really tough ones with too much rain or not enough rain....  
 
Does anyone know of any farms in the area that sell 'organic' strawberries to the public?
