gastric bypass
4/15/2010 at 9:24 PM
I have a appointment in a few months to meet with a surgeon out of province for a gastric bypass. As much as I am excited for this I also have some trepidations. My other half is not very enthusiatic over the whole idea. Over the years I have tried almost everything to lose the weight. At one point I had lost over 135 pounds, and kept it off for a few years but gained it all back when I quit smoking. My goal is to be healthy. I want to be healthy for my children. I have had high cholestral since I was 12 and high blood pressure since my late teens. I had a parent die of a heart attack in their early 50's.
Has anyone in the area had the surgery? How was the experience?
The extra "junk in the trunk" doesn't bother me, it's the health issues..
