Not only that, which, from my experience is beyond crazy. But when there are people, both genders, all ages (of adults), and all they can do is stare at you. I don't know about anyone else, but that happens 7 times out of 10. Whether I'm eating, they're eating, neither, or both. I get stared at. It especially gets me when it's 50+ people. What's wrong with you? Did your parents not raise you that it's impolite to stare?  
And besides, who in their right mind wants to watch someone stuff their face? I tell you, not me...

Don't mind look around see who is there but just staring is annoying

what bugs me is someone blowing their nose when I'm eating out! yuck I don't mind if you have to give it a little wipe because it's running but honestly, blow your nose?

Yes I hate that too @johnbisonbear. To be honest I don’t like it any time, which may be a bit extreme, but I get grossed out by it. I always go to the bathroom to do it, then I can wash my hands too!

So true, had a family member who was accused of staring when they were just looking out the window. I quickly put an end to that little scene by telling them to get over themselves, no one was looking at them.

Well, pretty hard for that to be the case when I'm more often than not in windowless corners, with nothing around me but a wall. And T.V.s? Come on: they're usually up, not directly behind

anyone minds breast feeding in public as long as the mother is discreet and covers herself up. I once saw a woman in a grocery store expose herself right at the check out, to me that was not acceptable as her breast was fully exposed. Oh well the mother had a big smile on her face, haha, whatever floats her boat.

When we were younger my parents could take us ( like 5 years old) to a fancy resturant in winnipeg and know that we wouldn't act up. The waiter even was amazed. (They were on their anniversary) We were taught to behave in public. My mom even had to take us 2 very small children one under the age of 1 on the Winnipeg city bus and never had an issue.  
 
When it comes to that it becomes about all how you were raised.

Hmm, I can understand it may make some uncomfortable, but it truly is one of natures most natural occurrences. Using discretion is a bit more classy, but no way would I think a mother should have to go sit in a dirty bathroom just to feed her child.

Just an afterthought, I think I've seen more of the female anatomy with fashion being what it is nowadays, than a mother breastfeeding.

If someone doesn't want to be around someone breastfeeding in a restaurant they can ask to be moved. There should be no reason to stare or for the woman to feel shamed for doing it. The baby is having its meal just like everyone else in the restaurant is there for.

for a mother to hide in a dirty bathroom, lol and what? sit on a toilet to breastfeed? NO! But please no decent woman wants to expose her breast, IMHO

Every mother ive seen breast feeding covers up with a blanket, worse case your looking at the back of a babies head, either way you don't need to look at it. Look at your partner , look at your phone , look at your meal. And maybe if the meal and wine were great maybe you'll get your chance later to. lol  
 
Now if we can just get every waitress across the county to stop asking " so do you have any plans for the rest of the evening " as you pay everything will be great. There must have been a mass email to every waitress in Canada go out telling to say that.

Not every baby accepts a bottle right away. Our first child had no problems with it. Our second took almost 5 months. For the first few months that we did try it caused him to have confusion and difficulties taking from the breast after trying to move to a bottle.  
 
So that isn't always the quick end all solution, and the mother should not have to feel she cannot go out to eat because someone cant mind their own business and not stare.  
 
If her whole breast is hanging out not covered that's a whole different scenario but 99% of the time that is not the case.

have you had a baby? If only every baby out there would accept a bottle (my 3rd and 4th children refused) if only breast pumping was so easy (proper storing temperatures, and heating proceeders, no warming in the microwave.) when babies get older they hate feeding covers/blankets and pull them off... although my children are past the ages of this energy draining and self sacrificing stage of life, I do respect the woman who still choose to do what is healthiest for their child, and ignore the stigma that our culture has put on it. I am sure that most complaining about breastfeeding wouldn't mind seeing a pretty lady in a low cut dress...lol

the whole thing was out was like a nude beach the kid was well over a year old could see top of table from floor  
 
anyway who cares was just an observation not an opportunity for everyone to jump in for what ever  
 
everyone needs manners in whatever fashion and even more when out in public no one cares how u act at home

You and that other poster are about as tactless as they come. No decent woman wants to expose her beast?  
What do you two clowns think those breasts are for?  
Did either of you think that the crying of the baby literally makes the mother lactate? it's literally programmed into them to produce milk for their young and you have the absolute cheek to imply she's being indecent by doing what she's programmed as a mother to do.  
On Breast pumps, some babies don't take to bottles, they don't have the right latch for it, my daughter was never bottle fed while my son was. Regardless it's absolutely no one's business anyways.

Maybe it was tactless. Or, maybe, that Mom had been waiting for her baby to be ready to eat for a while. Maybe baby wasn't feeling well, and mom wanted to take advantage of an opportunity to feed while baby was interested. Maybe baby was getting tired and upset with waiting, and mom figured that was better than a screaming baby. Maybe baby started crying, and she felt let-down happening and she didn't have a good supply and didn't want to waste the precious milk she did have by not nursing, despite the public situation and not having a suitable cover.  
 
There are so many possible scenarios.  
 
And really, it's just some skin. She wasn't working there, she wasn't serving or preparing food in a restaurant. Observers can always look away.
