I am curious if anyone knows of any legitimate apps for Canada that have the same values & purpose (of reducing food waste from restaurants) as this one in Australia? I am not talking about apps like Groupon, etc. They don't state values such as the Food For All app does and also deal with products that aren't food.  
 
I am not sure how they are reducing food waste in practice & giving deals, but I thought I would ask eBrandon folks to see if anyone is aware of anything similar here. It sounds good in theory.

I don’t know if many restaurant apps that help to reduce food waste but in regards to helping reduce your waste at a restaurant you could refuse napkins and straws(and in replacement use your own) as well as bring your own containers for leftovers, also being strategic with your order in what you choose to eat(making sure you will enjoy it & not let it go to waste) or even takeout for a few ideas. Also requesting if you get takeout that it’s not in styrofoam or black plastics that cannot be recycled here. However I do know of an app you can use with superstore, I haven’t gotten to use it yet but it’s called Flashfood and it allows you to buy food closer to expiry for waaay less money thus helping reduce food waste— It’s a great idea if you are going to eat it right away, if you have a freezer or some creativity in cooking these items. I look forward to seeing if anyone does have actual link suggestions In regards to this!

We waste little food here. Food is too important & expensive to waste. If we do eat out (rarely), we do take the leftovers home. I always check the bargain shelf at Superstore too, just in case. I can stretch food like nobody's business. I try to be a good steward (be responsible) when I buy & prepare food & can be creative in regards to leftovers.  
 
Flashfood, eh? I will have to check that one out.  
 
Hopefully more people will chime in as to availability of responsible food apps.
