I always wear a mask at drive thru and for curb side pick ups

—-I do wear a mask.

I Did several curbside pickups today and yes I wore a mask. Also, I wore a mask at Tim Hortons drive thru.

I wear a mask through the drive thru and for curb-side pick ups. I’m not sure what the actual rules are but I think it’s respectful to the workers. They might be the only people I see all day but they see many many people. They’re wearing a mask to protect me so I feel it’s only right to do it for them

It’s just common courtesy to wear a mask now.

I never wear my mask when I'm alone in my vehicle. rarely see other people those days, so I don't even bother reading the news. If I get out of my vehicle, I'll consider wearing a mask, but not in it.

Is this post in reference to the actual thread topic or just a random thought? Are you saying you do not wear a mask through a drive-thru if you are in the car alone? If so are you announcing that it is something you would only do if mandated?

Never thought much on it but will moving forward. Never bothered for the brief 15 second interaction when its been drilled into our heads repeatedly covid exposure comes from prolonged close contact. But will moving forward out of respect of the workers.

I don't wear mask when I am in the drive thru, I don't wear one in my car nor do I when I'm out walking the dog. Get real.

you wear a mask while walking your dog? if i am in my car and not going to be within the 6 ft of another human i dont wear mine. i do however ensure that i have sanitized my hands, keep back and not talk towards the worker in the drive thru. Although if asked my mask is readily available

I do not either and have rarely seen others with them on in the drive thru line

Unless your arm and the servers arm are both three feet long (which I doubt) then you are not 6 ft apart. Therefore as a courtesy to those workers it would be prudent to wear a mask at the drive through window.

Not as common as you may like to think.

Not consistently as I should, but it's something I am trying to remember to do. I think just not wearing in the car, it doesn't immediately occur to me to pop it on going through the drive-thru.

admit you don't care if you make someone sick from having the poor misfortune of passing you a burger and fries. Because you are in your car after all! Good grief. I don't wear a mask in my car either unless I intentionally get within six feet from someone, nor do I wear one in my home for the exception of answering the door for deliveries. Then, it is not about me, it is about them. Yeah...I'm the one who needs to get real.

Unfortunately probably 80% of people do not wear one in a drive thru but thanks to those who have enough courtesy to do so out of respect for the minimum wage workers working around the clock to get you your fast food/coffee. As for not wearing one in a vehicle I wear mine in my vehicle to avoid touching it twice to take it off and put it back on a foot from the door before going into a building and bypassing the sanitizer like I see others do. I’m not worried about looking stupid nor did I wait until masks were mandated to choose to wear one. I just shake my head at those still being ignorant about masks. Or the ones who claim they have a ‘lung disorder’ who very obviously do not so ‘don’t have to wear one’’. We see you...and we all think you are a douchebag.

Wow, yup that's exactly what I said... Can you please link me to a case where a drive thru worker got sick from handing someone a Big Mac?? Pretty sure I'm more likely to get sick picking up my order out of that filthy baby tray that clearly rarely gets wiped that a certain restaurant likes to hand orders out in.

That is what I was thinking too. I don't wear a mask in drive through. If someone gets covid from touching a different part of the bag than the one serving the bag there are much bigger issues at play. I don't see them wipe down the debit machine nor the plastic bucket. I have gone and seen crumbs in the bucket so I know they are not cleaning them.

No, I don’t going through the drive thru. I don’t when out for a walk with the dogs either.

Ignorant comment of they day. Completely misses the point.  
 
No one is arguing that it is unlikely to get COVID from getting your big mac from a worker. The chances are low obviously because there is no prolonged contact. If this was the case, places like this would likely be shut down as well.  
 
What is being argued is that wearing masks in drive thru will reduce a small chance even further. No one is asking the world from you. Only that you wear a mask for the 10-30 seconds it takes to pay and receive your order. You don't have to wear it while you are ordering and you don't have to wear it while waiting in queue. Just wear it at the damn window.  
 
It takes 2.5 seconds of effort to put it on. Even if you personally believe they are pointless at this point and even if it may not be legally required at drive-thru (maybe it is? I actually am not sure) it is simply common courtesy to put one on for the quick transaction.  
 
Here is an example. People have a a next to no chance of tearing their rotator cuff when opening a door and I definitely cannot link you any cases where it has happened. People are also not legally obligated to hold the door open after they enter. But yet consistently people still hold the door open if someone is right behind them.  
 
Why does this happen???? Because it is considered COMMON COURTESY and the POLITE thing to do. Much like wearing a mask for the 15 second transaction at a drive thru/curbside pickup.

Also where did dogs even come into play. Literally no one is arguing that masks should be worn when you are out walking your dogs.  
 
I guess people have to go completely off topic to deflect when they realize they have no sane/logical argument about why they can't be bothered to wear a mask.

It’s always so predictable who will respond on these threads with their hillbilly rationalities. For those who think of others-continue to put that small yet important effort in to keep each other safer. Clearly brought up properly with courtesy for others. For those of you choosing not to, whatever, keep looking like a complete laughable fool to the majority of the population.

I haven’t been but realistically it wouldn’t hurt anyone to wear it while you pay and grab food, technically you could accidentiasly send spit balls towards the debit machine or the person hand sticking out the window. I will be from now on. For those that are fighting it, why do you fight putting on your mask for 2 minutes, do you think your something special or does it make you sleep better at night or what? If your reasoning is that the government can’t tell me what up to then your an absolute idiot, get over yourself and do it. There is worse things in life to complain about then wearing a mask, btw when you don’t wear a mask in places that have it mandated everyone is judging you and calling you and idiot under their breath. I try not to get worked up over it, just put it on and go about your business.

I wasn’t a few months back, the first time Brandon was in code red. It didn’t even cross my mind for whatever reason. Then my friend mentioned they count the ‘douche bags’ that don’t wear their mask at the windows.. it made their shift go faster. I then realized i was that douche bag unintentionally. I just quickly pop it on during the window interactions now. It just makes sense. I’ve always worn my mask for curb side pick up as well.

do anything for you as I never made a claim that it has occurred, only stated that you don't care if it did. Selfish people like yourself are the reason the rest of us won't be spending time with loved ones this holiday so keep it up, laugh away at what a useless tool you are and be proud of yourself. Just don't think for a second when all is said and done and people are proudly discussing their sacrifices during this pandemic towards the greater good that you have anything at all to contribute to the conversation.

For those that don’t wear a mask for whatever reason or think they don’t work....how would you feel if a covid positive person was interacting with/caring for one of your elderly family members? Or any family member that is at high risk of not surviving if they get sick? Would you want the covid positive person near your loved ones without wearing a mask?  
 
The reality is, asymptomatic people are unknowingly passing covid on. If everyone wears a mask when social distancing isn’t possible, then perhaps we’d be better off as a whole? When are people going to understand that wearing a mask is to protect OTHERS in case you have covid or any other illness? It’s not only just about covid anymore. If a person who has a cold passes it on, that person now has to take time off work until results are in or symptoms are gone. Not everyone can afford to be off work. Not everyone has paid sick days. Not everyone will survive having covid, even if you will!!  
 
Wearing a mask protects everyone...why are some so against it

You wearing a mask helps protect me against your sniffling nose, your spit when you speak , your droplets when you sneeze and speak. You touching your nose and spreading your germs .  
Just as me wearing a mask helps protect you against the same.  
No big deal to wear a mask for a few minutes in a drive thru or a half hour while shopping to add a layer of protection for yourself and others.  
Seems like a small request being asked if us to save the life of someone's loved one.
