wondering what average hanging weight price is per pound of a pig? and if anyone is selling farm raise pork and has a list of the prices there selling pieces separately (ie roasts per pound, pork chops per pound)

I'm not sure this in the answer you're looking for, but I bought 1/2 a pig not too long about for $2.50 a pound, and was about 100? lbs. I'd have to go back and check, but it seems to be it was about $250. I got it from Tendercuts.

You can buy a whole pig for around 150 at east 40, we've done it before for pig roasts on the farm.

But that's for the whole pig, not cut and wrapped though, right?

My $250 i:ncluded cutting and wrapping, and there was some smoking/curing in there too.

$150 for a whole pig is pretty reasonable, though! I'll have to remember that!

If you get a whole pig for $150 that is a great deal. We raise a few pigs ourselves and my cost just to buy the piglet is $70 and that is cheap - can be upwards of $100 per piglet. Then I have to feed it for 5-6 months. Right now with 5 pigs I am going through 5 bags of feed a week, sometimes more. I am in for about $350 per live pig not including the water they drink.

We got a lamb from them for Easter and have just picked up a pig from them for a family BBQ. They charged $1.99/lb for the whole pig and we asked for the smallest they could get and it was ~42lb. Came out to just less than $85 for the whole pig!
