Does anyone know where I can find a Banana Cream Pie in Brandon? I've called around to some of the local bakeries, and grocery stores and none have them at the moment. My Grandpa's birthday is this weekend, and I'd like to surprise him with his favourite treat. Problem is, I am not a baker, so making one isn't on the table. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I know you said making one wasn't on the table but I am not a baker either but here is a simple pie.  
 
Graham crust (dollar store) or frozen pie crust shell. Bake as per instructions.  
 
Cooked banana pudding/ pie filler. Follow instructions on top of stove or microwave. Use a large bowl if microwaving so it doesn't boil over. Slice banana into shell of choice top with cooked pudding and when cool top with dream whip, or whipped cream topping of choice.

I agree with oldcowgirl. Graham crust, I use cooked vanilla pudding, cool, then fill crust with banana, and top with pudding and whipped cream. You could even buy the canned whip cream, it so easy to decorate with. We love coconut so i always toast some and sprinkle on top.

Not in Brandon, but Robin's Nest in Carberry makes some pretty great pies! Might be worth the drive if you really don't want to make it.

I don't know if you're going to find a place to buy a cream pie like that. They tend not to keep/hold for very long.  
 
But I agree, it's the easiest pie to make. Graham crust which is ready to use right out of the package (buy in the baking supply aisle), a layer of sliced bananas, then a layer of even the instant pudding (I usually put in less milk, if it calls for 2 cups I'll use 1.5 cups instead), which comes in banana flavour or you can use vanilla, and top with a thawed tub of Cool Whip if you don't want to bother whipping the cream (plus, it will keep longer). It will literally take 10 minutes to make, providing you have a hand mixer (you can mix the instant pudding by hand, but you need strong arms, LOL).

I think you have all inspired me to at least attempt to make one. Hoping it's the thought that counts if it doesn't quite turn out the way I hoped.

My daughter and Mom are making pies this weekend, I am sure they could whip up one for you.

Also think I've seen them at Patches. Sometimes it's worth paying extra to avoid the stress and mess.

Sorry, slightly off topic, is there any bakery that makes onion buns like the old Dutch Mill bakery on Rosser used to? Miss them.

Years ago when I worked at Komfort Kitchen we used to make banana cream pie. If you give them a call they might be able to make you one for the weekend.  
 
I also follow Chez Angela on Instagram.. they just posted about coconut cream pies. It looks so delicious. They likely can make your banana cream pie.
